I’m Mike LaRoque, founder of BlueOak Talent Advisory—and someone who’s been in the trenches of hiring, scaling, and building teams from the ground up.

Over the last decade, I’ve recruited hundreds of highly skilled professionals across industries—from physicians and engineers to HR leaders and administrative specialists. As a seasoned agency and corporate recruiter, I’ve consistently exceeded hiring goals by aligning deeply with leadership and executing strategic, full-cycle recruiting at scale.

Before launching BlueOak, I co-founded SpotWash (now Revvy), an on-demand car care startup I helped grow from a two-person team to over 50 employees across five states. I built the recruiting engine, reduced turnover by 75%, and developed sustainable hiring systems to keep pace with rapid growth. I know firsthand what it means to hire under pressure, with limited resources, and high expectations.

That’s why I started BlueOak Talent Advisory—because I’ve been there. I’ve scaled teams. I’ve made the hires that moved the needle. And I want to help founders and early-stage companies do the same, without the bloated fees or transactional recruiting experiences.
